NUC Corporation, a JXTG Group company, develops, manufactures and sells high-performance polyethylene products based on our innovative technologies and development capabilities.

NUC supports your day-to-day life through the sale of our polyethylene products. In addition to low-density polyethylene (LDPE) products for wire and cable insulation, high-performance polyethylene products such as EEA, (ethylene-ethyl acrylate copolymer) used in polymer modifier and functional film applications, and specialty products for medical applications, we provide LDPE for use in film and lamination products and molding applications. In particular, our products for wire and cable applications support effective long-distance electric power transmission, which is in high demand with

renewable energy development, making wire and cable one of the applications for which our innovative technologies can contribute to the sustainable development of society.

Corporate History

January 1961 Established as Nitto Unicar Company Limited, and capitalized as a 3,600 million yen as a joint venture between Nitto Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. and Union Carbide Corporation of the U.S.A. (current Dow Chemical)
March 1962 Started production of HP-LDPE
December 1965 Mitsubishi Rayon Co., Ltd. became the Japanese shareholder 
August 1966 Nitto Unicar renamed Nippon Unicar Company Limited
February 1967 Started production of silicone products
October 1967 Started production of cross-linkable polyethylene products  
July 1970 Started production of ethylene copolymers (EEA, EVA) by high pressure process
1976 Capital increased to 5,000 million yen
1980 Tonen Sekiyu Kagaku (currently Tonen Chemical Corporation) became the Japanese shareholder
June 1983 Started production of Unipol L-LDPE
